435. The Château d'If

 The Château d'If is a fortress (later a prison) located on the island of If, the smallest island in the Frioul Archipelago situated in the Mediterranean Sea about a mile offshore in the Bay of Marseille in southeastern France. It is famous for being one of the settings of Alexandre Dumas' adventure novel The Count of Monte Cristo.  The château is a square, three-story building 28 m long on each side, flanked by three towers with large gun embrasures. The remainder of the island, which only measures 30,000 square metres, is heavily fortified; high ramparts with gun platforms surmount the island's cliffs.

244. Aiguille du Midi

The Aiguille du Midi (3,842 m) is a mountain in the Mont Blanc massif in the French Alps. The name "Aiguille du Midi" translates literally as "Needle of the South". It is said to be so called because of its position due south of Chamonix. (Midi also means "Noon"). First ascent 4 August 1818 by Antoni Malczewski, J. M. Balmat and 5 guides.

231. Montmartre

 Montmartre is a hill (the butte Montmartre) which is 129 metres high, giving its name to the surrounding district, in the north of Paris in the 18th arrondissement, a part of the Right Bank. Montmartre is primarily known for the white-domed Basilica of the Sacré Cœur on its summit and as a nightclub district. The other, older, church on the hill is Saint Pierre de Montmartre, which claims to be the location at which the Jesuit order of priests was founded. Many artists had studios or worked around the community of Montmartre such as Salvador Dalí, Amedeo Modigliani, Claude Monet, Piet Mondrian, Pablo Picasso and Vincent van Gogh. Montmartre is also the setting for several hit films.

194. The Mount Blanc massif

 The Mont Blanc massif  is a mountain range in the western Alps. It is named after Mont Blanc, at 4,810.45 m the highest summit of the Alps. It is located in France (Haute-Savoie and Savoie), Italy (Aosta Valley), and Switzerland (western Valais). The Mont Blanc massif is sometimes considered to be part of either the Pennine Alps or the Graian Alps.

145. The Vercors

 The Vercors is a range of plateaux and mountains in the départements of Isère and Drôme in the French Prealps. It lies west of the Dauphiné Alps, from which it is separated by the rivers Drac and Isère. Cliffs at its eastern edge face the city of Grenoble.

55. Vila Nova de Milfontes

The village dates from the year 1468, founded by the King D. João II. The first inhabitants were prisoners sentenced by minor delicts and fifty years after the village establishment the population was no more than ten families. The village was frequently attacked by pirates and a fortress was built in 1602. The fortress is commonly called Saint Clement's Castle.

36. Ushant

Ushant (Breton: Enez Eusa, French: Ouessant) is an island in the English Channel which marks the north-westernmost point of metropolitan France. It belongs to Brittany and is in the traditional region of Bro-Leon. Administratively, Ushant is a commune in the Finistère department. It is the only place in Brittany with a separate name in English.
Ushant marks a southern limit of the Celtic Sea and the southern entrance to the western English Channel, the northern entrance being the Isles of Scilly, southwest of Land's End in Cornwall, England. Although it is sometimes considered an island in the English Channel, it does not form part of the Channel Islands. According to the definitions of the International Hydrographic Organization the island lies outside the English Channel and is in the Celtic Sea. The island is a rocky landmass some 8 km by 3 km with a total area of 15 km2 .

Brittany (French: Bretagne,); is one of the 27 regions of France. It occupies a large peninsula in the northwest of the country, lying between the English Channel to the north and the Bay of Biscay to the south. Its capital is Rennes.

Kehl & Strasbourg


Kehl – miasto, w Niemczech, w Badenii-Wirtembergii, w rejencji Fryburg, w powiecie Ortenau, pomiędz Kinizg a Renem, na przeciwległym brzegu do Strasburga, około 15 km północny zachód od Offenburgu.
Strasburg (fr. Strasbourg, niem. Straßburg, w dialekcie alzackim Strossburi, łac. Argentoratum, później Stratœburgus) — miasto położone w północno-wschodniej części Francji. Strasburg jest stolicą i głównym ośrodkiem gospodarczym Alzacji i departamentu Dolny Ren. W mieście działał m.in. polski konsulat generalny (do 31 stycznia 2009). W Strasburgu mieści się również Europejski Trybunał Praw Człowieka.
