The Gentoo Penguin - Swap

The Gentoo Penguin - Pygoscelis papua, is easily recognized by the wide white stripe extending like a bonnet across the top of its head. Chicks have grey backs with white fronts. Adult Gentoos reach a height of 51 to 90 cm (20–36 in), making them the largest penguins outside of the two giant species, the Emperor Penguin and the King Penguin.

Torres del Paine National Park (Parque Nacional Torres del Paine) is a national park encompassing mountains, a glacier, a lake, and river-rich areas in southern Chilean Patagonia. The Cordillera del Paine is the centerpiece of the park. It lies in a transition area between the Magellanic subpolar forests and the Patagonian Steppes. The park is located 112 km (70 mi) north of Puerto Natales and 312 km (194 mi) north of Punta Arenas. Bernardo O'Higgins National Park is its neighbour to the west, while Los Glaciares National Park is located to the north in Argentine territory.

Urk

Urk po raz pierwszy pojawił się w historycznych źródłach około X wieku. Miasto znajdowało się wówczas na wyspie położonej w zatoce Morza Północnego. W 1939 roku Urk przestał być wyspą, gdyż połączono go z stałym lądem za pomocą wału ziemnego. Niedługo później zakończono budowę Afsluitdijk i miasto zostało połączone od wschodu z powstającym Polderem Północnym. Budowa Afsluitdijk która, uniemożliwiła dalsze prowadzenie połowów przez miejscową społeczność rybacką, doprowadziła do licznych protestów w rezultacie których, mieszkańcy Urk zachowali odrębność administracyjną od gminy Noordoostpolder, jak i pomoc od państwa holenderskiego, która miała zrekompensować straty spowodowane koniecznością porzucenia połowów. Dziś gospodarka miasta Urk skierowana jest głównie ku turystyce. W historii głównym źródłem dochodu mieszkańców Urk, od zawsze było rybołówstwo. Miasto położone w zatoce Morza Północnego, było doskonała bazą wypadowa dla licznych rybaków, następnie sprzedawano otrzymane połowy na terytorium całej Holandii, co przyczyniło się do nadania dla części zabudowy cech handlowych (domy kupców, place targowe). Dziś jest to jedna z atrakcji turystycznych miasta. Mieszkańcy Urk wskutek wielowiekowej izolacji, do dziś posługują się osobnym dialektem języka holenderskiego oraz zachowali elementy folkloru regionalnego.

Matanuska Glacier - Swap

Matanuska Glacier is a valley glacier in the U.S. state of Alaska. At 27 miles (39 km) long by four miles (6.4 km) wide, it is the largest glacier accessible by car in the United States. Its terminus is the source of the Matanuska River. It lies near the Glenn Highway about 100 miles (160 km) northeast of Anchorage. Matanuska Glacier flows about one foot (30 cm) per day, but as of 2007 the location of the glacier terminus had changed little over the previous three decades.
